Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Scout & Dash is a learning app for children from Nursery to Grade 8, used by families through a parent login set up by their school or by our team. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it. If you have any questions, contact us at info.scoutanddash@gmail.com.

2. Accounts are not self-signup

There is no public registration form to create an account. Every parent account is created for you by your school or by our admin team, after you either request access through our website or are enrolled directly by your school. If you submit our "Request Access" form, we store the name, email, phone number and child's grade you provide, solely so we can review your request and get in touch — it is never shared with advertisers or other third parties.

3. What we collect once you have an account

• Parent details: name, email address and phone number.
• Child details: name, grade, an optional date of birth and an avatar you choose for them. A child never has their own separate login or password — everything happens inside their parent's account.
• Learning activity: quiz attempts and scores, daily activity completions, streaks and progress statistics — so we can show you (and only you) your child's progress report.

We never ask a child to enter their own personal information — any data about a child is entered by their parent or by our admin team on the school's behalf.

4. Where your data is stored

Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication), on Google's secure cloud infrastructure. Access is restricted so a parent can only ever see their own children's data, and only our admin team can see data across families. We do not sell, rent or share your data with advertisers, and there are no third-party ad or tracking scripts on this app.

5. Emails we send

If you have provided an email address, we may use it to send account-related messages — for example, a welcome message when your account is created. We use a transactional email service to deliver these and do not use your email for marketing from any other party.

6. Local storage on your device

Your browser may store small, non-identifying preferences on your own device (like which language you last selected) so the app remembers your choices next time. This stays on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to review, correct or delete your family's data at any time by writing to info.scoutanddash@gmail.com. Since every account is set up and managed by our admin team, this is also the fastest way to make any change to your account.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Scout & Dash after a change means you accept the updated policy.
